APD Story Shock Absorber Valve

Automotive Stamping - Shock Absorber Valve

The function of the shock absorber valve is to regulate the flow of oil in a shock. This allows ride dampening capabilities. Originally this part was designed as a solid brass screw machine product. Due to the screw machine process, the brass part’s variability created issues with the accuracy of the holes that allowed for the flow of oil.

We designed a large flanged, step drawn stamping in its place. The part is rolled into itself, creating the necessary part depth. It is cluster pierced, allowing for much higher quality standards. The part can also be produced considerably faster, allowing a large price reduction for the customer.
